“At Home in Middle Earth" 

An adventure in stitch with Angele Carter of Fabric And Ink. 

Are you ready for a new adventure?

Join Angele and journey to Middle Earth to create a whimsical Hobbit door needlebook. Transform wool felt and humble embroidery floss into something special you’ll treasure and love to use.

In this workshop, we’ll cover cutting tiny felt shapes and how to combine them with embroidery to make something unique. Angele will share lots of tips to make the journey’s path a little smoother and we’ll enjoy Elevenses and Afternoon Tea along the way. Basic embroidery skills are required.

 Each intrepid traveler on this adventure will receive a beautiful kit. The kit includes all materials needed, Angele’s favorite flower shaped palette for organizing tiny felt pieces, an art postcard and a very special handmade gift.

We begin our day with 2nd Breakfast 10am, just like the Hobbits of the Shire

Lunch served 12.30-1.30pm catered by Mendicino Farms

We will end our day with Afternoon Tea. 3pm

Skill Level – Intermediate

Basic embroidery skills required. Stitches used include backstitch, whipstitch, lazy daisy, french knots.

You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer but PLEASE NO NUTS AT ALL IN THE STORE DUE TO ALLERGY.

Full Kit

The kit includes

100% wool felt

 full skeins of DMC stranded embroidery floss (including several of Angele’s favorite variegated threads!)

Ribbon

Embroidery needle and applique pins

Freezer paper

Printed pattern

Angele’s favorite flower shaped paint palette (for organizing little felt shapes)

An art postcard 

Something special, handstitched just for you by Angele

All necessary tools will be provided for in-class use.

We will be hosting an optional Saturday evening dinner at local award winning restaurant Craft Roots .  Join us for dinner and a cocktail.

PLEASE RSVP  FOR  OPTIONAL DINNER no later than May 5th to ensure space for all.
