Sock Sunday

Socks are a fantastic small and portable project that can easily be completed in short time.  They are great canvases for new stitches and techniques without a huge time or cost commitment.   The best part is they fit in your purse.  Have a few minutes at the doctor's office, or waiting in carpool line, sitting on the beach or watching a game? you can get out your socks knit a few rows and before you know it you will have a pair ready to wear.

Each month we will feature a new pattern  and yarn to showcase it.  On sock Sunday we will get together to cast on and go over the pattern along with any new techniques.  You then have a whole month to complete a pair.

We will have lots of tips and tricks for you that will help a lot on your sock journey.

Not quite done for next month? no need to miss out.  Come along to sock Sunday and you can either skip this month's kit or start a little later.

Socks can be knit on Double Point Needles, Magic Loop or even 9" circulars whichever is your preferred method.

Sock Sundays will be the last Sunday of every month 10.30am-12pm

Each student will need.

Needles in size to pattern or as needed to get gauge.

The yarn chosen for that month (approx. cost $15-$35) We will have this wound and ready for you to start.

Basic tool kit, this should include removable stitch markers (these help with ensuring matching socks)

 This month we will be using Universal Yarns Bamboo Pop Sock.  We are encouraging you to use 2 colors one for heels toes and cuffs and one for the main color

This is not a learn to knit class you will need to have basic sock knowledge and knitting skills.  You  should be able to cast on, read a pattern, knit, purl, increase and decrease, knit in the round and be able to work independently

Space is limited.  You must sign up in advance for  this class to ensure enough supplies for each student.  A waitlist will be formed if needed.  Once you have registered for class we will  wind your yarn which will be purchased on day of event. Class Fee Does NOT include cost of yarn.
